What is Tracer Trails?
Tracer Trails came into existence in 2006 to set up DIY shows for touring bands & artists in Edinburgh.
In 2008 we established an annual weekender called Retreat! – it happens each August somewhere in Edinburgh or Leith.
In 2010 Tracer Trails HQ relocated to Pollokshields, Glasgow, and since then we’ve been making shows happen on both sides of the country.
In September 2011 comes the first instalment of a new festival in Glasgow: Music is the Music Language, a co-promotion with the awesome Cry Parrot.
This year Tracer Trails is also commissioning Aileen Campbell, Alasdair Roberts and Drew Wright to create new work drawing on the contents of the School of Scottish Studies Archives at the University of Edinburgh – we’ll be touring this project in October 2011.
Tracer Trails has received funding from Creative Scotland, the PRS Foundation and the University of Edinburgh and is always glad to be engaged in discussion about [the implications of this for] ‘DIY’ activity.
